Off to the countryside! – we'll accompany you

Where do you all want to go? - To the countryside!

Those of us who have lived in the countryside for a while know it – life in the countryside is slower-paced, close to nature, and worth living. But it's also exciting and full of potential.

More and more people are moving from cities to rural areas – is this a trend?

On these pages, we want to introduce you to life and living in the countryside, because a house is only one part of a dream property. The surroundings—the countryside, the air, the people—make it all the more perfect. Make it a lifestyle.

Does country life suit me, do I fit in in the countryside?

The beautiful ideas and dreams of living in the countryside often go hand in hand with the worry of making the wrong decision. After all, giving up an apartment in a familiar urban area and buying a house in the country is a big step; many people in Germany only take this step once, maybe twice, in their lifetime.

Moving from the city to the countryside is, for many, a move into the unknown.

Here are some questions you might have when considering moving to the countryside. We had these questions too.

PEOPLE who live in the countryside and those who move to the countryside

What will my social environment be like in the countryside? Will I be accepted as a newcomer? Will my family and I be welcome? How and where can I find support in the countryside?

  • new contacts
  • Friends
  • like-minded people

LAND – the region and the area

What is the infrastructure like right here and in my entire new region? Where can I find:

  • Doctors
  • Next
  • Schools
  • Shopping facilities
  • cultural offerings

Not all countryside is the same. From a remote farmstead to a village of 200 souls to a district town – our region, the rural area between Koblenz and Wiesbaden, offers a wide variety of very different places to live, both demographically and in terms of landscape.

HOUSE – your own four walls

Those moving to the countryside to own their own home essentially have two options: buying an existing property, i.e., a building that is already in existence, or buying a plot of land and building a house on it. Older houses, which are often found in our region between Koblenz and Wiesbaden, tell stories and exude a very special charm. Newer houses, on the other hand, can impress with clean lines in their design and modern features. We specialize in existing properties and will help you find the right one!

Renovating, refurbishing, modernizing – feasible or a bottomless pit?

We say: "Doable, but with a little planning!" Some older houses have been modernized by previous owners over time and don't require extensive and costly renovations. You can move in directly or after a standard refurbishment. However, some other older houses need a complete overhaul. With older houses, understanding the modernization measures is crucial. Heating, roof, facade, insulation, water and electrical lines – without the necessary experience, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. The personal and financial commitment involved can be just as easily overestimated as underestimated.

Regarding renovation, refurbishment and modernization, we say: "Doable, but with brains!"

We help you discuss in advance what needs to be considered when dealing with older houses and buildings. Depending on your individual circumstances and wishes, we will work together to determine:

  • what needs to be done to the house in the short and long term
  • What is the difference between renovation and refurbishment?
  • what you need a professional for and what you can do yourself
  • how high the costs of the necessary and desired modernization measures would be.

We help you answer the important questions so that you have more clarity and security when buying property and moving to the countryside.

You will be able to decide which form of country life suits you best. We are happy to advise you!
